Combining Floatation & Sauna Therapy

Hybrid Float & Sauna

In the last few months, Fluid Float has researched and tested combining the use of Infrared therapy during float sessions. Infrared is used for many applications, from remote controls to thermal imaging but has found popularity in the wellness industry, specifically in  Infrared Saunas.  Infrared therapy has been known to provide a wide range of health benefits many of the benefits of the sun, such as vitamin D, increased blood flow, and therefore oxygen, which can really help the healing process. which is a great complement to Float therapy.   Thanks to the ease of customization of our Float Cabins we have found a way to integrate these two health-enhancing therapies into one without building a sauna.

What is Infrared therapy?

Infrared therapy uses carbon heaters to emit infrared light experienced as riant heat which is absorbed by the surface of the skin. Unlike convection heating, which produces heat by warming up an area or surfaces, with air currents. Infrared is a light wavelength that uses 'far' radiant heat to penetrate objects and lifeforms in the same manner as natural sunlight.  Everything emits and receives infrared heat. The human body emits and receives infrared heat in the far-infrared band.  Radiant far infrared is all around us and is essential for human life.

Infrared or 'Dry' saunas are used today as an alternative to the regular heat of a traditional Steam sauna. Although they both carry similar health benefits the main differences between a traditional sauna and an infrared sauna are how they heat.  Steam saunas create humidity to heat the air around the body to heat the surface of the skin and causing sweat. Whereas Infrared saunas penetrate the skin with the infrared light wavelength. The same wavelength you get from the sun but without the harmful effects of UV. The lower temperature emits longer waves which are deeper penetrating causing the body to release almost  20% more toxins compared to steam if used in a sauna environment.

Some Benefits of Infrared Therapy

Many of our clients enjoy our float cabin as an effective way to enhance detoxification, relieve pain, and to feel euphoric. Consider infrared as another tool that you can use to better manage your well-being. The Infrared carbon fiber panels are installed in our Float cabins are located on the ceiling, emitting enough heat to warm users from above but from a far enough distance that you don't achieve the 'sweat' of a sauna. Your body absorbs enough infrared light to achieve the positive effects of Infrared therapy while enhancing the floating experience altogether in a warm comfortable environment.
